Carter, Easter 2011

We had our own Easter Egg hunt on Sunday morning. Carter did pretty well hunting his "eggies", we only had to find a few for him. Of course Abby would have led Carter to every egg that had food in it if we had let her.
Carter was just using his hands to pick the eggs up, so we gave him the wire spoon to lift them out, and this is his interpretation of how it works. He was pretty proud of himself for using it to get the eggs out.

Oh the excitement!

The Saturday morning before Easter the Fort Peck Community Federal Credit Union does an egg hunt for the kids. Carter found about 5 eggs but didn't find the special egg that won the Easter Basket. He traded in his eggs for a baggie of goodies.

Henry, Easter 2011

Henry's New Quilt

Thanks for the quilt Sharon! Sharon made each one of the boys a quilt when they were born with their "stats" embroidered on them. Carter's quilt is all about firemen. Henry's quilt is denim and camo.

A First for Carter

When it comes to nap time or bed time we tend to stick to the same routine...a couple books, hugs, kisses, and I love yous, sometimes a few minutes of snuggling, and then it's time to go to sleep. We very rarely have a fight. We also very rarely have a child that just falls asleep anywhere. Carter has nodded off a handful of times in his highchair or on the couch and once on the floor when he was about 4 months old, so this was quite a surprise to me. I think he was mad at me because I needed to feed Henry and couldn't do one of the million things he wanted to do. He was in Henry's room for about 20 minutes before Aunt Mickey and I decided we needed to check on him. Not sure what Carter's thought process was that led him to this position but he was sure sleeping soundly.

One Dedicated Fisherman

I think the tackle box, fishing pole, and life jacket from the Glasgow/Fort Peck Chapter of Walleye's Unlimited were a big hit. So big in fact, that he had to sleep with the life jacket and tackle box (complete with tackle, including sharp hooks). Carter wore his prize life jacket most of the night and carried his tackle box around showing anyone that was interested, or not. I wish I had a camera at the banquet because our little man was quite a hoot. Usually we get a book to the face for a wake up call, but today it was the thud of a tackle box and a thwap of a life jacket. I have to say I'm a bit surprised that Carter didn't spend the day outside with his life jacket on and tackle box in tow.

Mr. Fashion

Ok, so he didn't completely dress himself. I wanted to make sure the swim trunks and shirt fit, he kept his socks on, added the sports bra and hat and insisted we take his picture on the stool.

Henry's New Mittens

Yes, I said Henry's New Mittens. John and Holly gave Henry a super cute hat and mitten set (at 3 in the afternoon) and Carter immediately took them, and the bag they came in (also in the picture on the far left). He would only take them off to eat and take a shower, otherwise, he wore them for two days straight. It was also very important to keep the gift bag close at hand, even if that means sleeping with it. Funny kid.

Henry and Carter

This isn't the best video but I thought I'd post it anyway. I was trying to get Henry to "talk" to me, but Carter interrupted. We'll have to try again, when Carter is no-where to be found. As soon as I bring out the camera he wants it. I keep hoping he'll take the Million $ picture at 2 years old, but we have yet to get one of something other than the footstool or his feet.
