I think he just might be the cutest sleeping baby I've ever seen.
I leave Daddy alone with Carter for 20 minutes, and this is what happens. Of course it was our last box of wipes. I have to bite my tongue every time I need one because Landon didn't take the time to fold them neatly when he put them back-they are all wadded and mushed into the container.
When Carter is bad we make him do chores. I have several flower beds that need weeding and watering and a yard that needs mowing about twice a week.
We went to Billings for Mother's Day again this year. The trip down was great, home, not so much. Carter was only content if he had every book, toy, and blanket we had with us on his lap; and the bag we carried it in too.

The 20 Minute Babysitter

Note to self: Buy kleenex EVERY time you go to the grocery store. The boxes will occupy a 15 month old long enough for you to put away the groceries.

Easter 2010

We went to Watford City for Easter again this year. Carter and Cruz got to dye Easter Eggs and their bellies and hands. It was messy, but I think the manufacturers make the dye easier to clean up than they did when we were kids. They had a good time and it only took two baths to get the dye off.





















Carter isn't a very good egg collector. I had to help him get his single egg into his bucket. He was very giving though, putting eggs in everyone else's baskets. At the end they trade in their eggs for a goody bag full of candy that I got to eat.

No, he doesn't have blue eyes, he has black eyes

This is the current black eye. Carter thinks he needs to play on all stairs. Most of the houses in our area have concrete steps to the front door and Carter decided to summer sault down Carlson's. He had on sunglasses that smashed into his cheek causing this black eye. The scab on his forehead is from the concrete. He cried a bit and then got back up and headed back to the steps.

These black eyes are from mid-March, a day apart. The one above his eye came from standing up backward on a kids adriondack chair and leaning too far over the back, right into the corner of the wall. The black eye under his eye came from a fall, but we don't know what happened. He was home alone when he got that one. You can't see it in this picture, but he had another black and blue mark above his other eye.

Carter's 6 Month Pictures

I don't know why I didn't do this 7 months ago, but over in the "Link List" is a link to Carter's 6 month pictures. We didn't do 1 year pictures, but I'm hoping Paula, my Sister-In-Law, will take some 18 month pictures this summer.

My Baby is Growing Up

What a ham.
This is one of the funniest learning curves by far. He holds the spoon, or fork, by the very end, which makes it really hard to control, and even thougher to get the food in the mouth instead of the eye or nose. He's getting much better though. He can't scoop, partly because we haven't found a suction bowl that stays put (let me know of a good one if you find one)and everything gets pushed around instead of scooped up. It takes a really long time to eat breakfast when I have to use a spoon to put oatmeal on his spoon so he can eat it, because that is how he wants it done.

HE'S ONE!

Carter was lucky enough to have 3 First Birthday's. We went to Billings the weekend before his birthday, had more First Birthday on the 15th at home, and had even more First Birthday the next weekend when Landon's Mom and Mike came over.
Of course he ate cake, but not much until the last First Birthday, and he was very clean about it. I ate a cake a week while I was pregnant so it didn't surprise me that he liked it.
Landon and I took the 15th off and spent the day at home with Carter. It wasn't much different than any other day for him. We did it more for us than for Carter. I can't belive he's 1 already (and now 13 months as I type).

This turned into a very frustrating situation. There was crying, screeching, wall punching, and more crying. I just stood there and laughed. He crawled in and sat down but couldn't get his legs back underneeth himself to crawl back out.

Nothing but Trouble

It didn't take long for Carter to figure out how to get into the next drawer up. Some of the drawers have been Carter proofed, others have not, and he knows which ones they are. He was pretty funny to watch figure out how to get into the drawer. He could open the bottom draw, it has his dishes in it. The next drawer up has a lock. The third drawer up is open, but he couldn't quite see what was in it. He could open it enough to get his little hand in there and feel around, but couldn't see anything. So he grunted, and pulled on, and emptied that bottom drawer, crawled on in, and found all the treasures of the kitchen in the drawer he could never reach.
